About

I'm a certified Auto engineer and hold full City and Guilds certifications since way back in the 1980's (old School) and served my apprenticeship with BMW, back in my youth days where I gained most of my experience working within workshops.

I covered both mechanical and Body shop over time, as I was very keen in my younger days, my goal was to gain experience on a vast variety of different vehicles so back in 1989 I joined the AA working in combination of both workshop / road side breakdowns as an AA Patrol Engineer over a 10 year period.

This was a great time to be working on vehicles you could actually do a lot of road side repairs, this was fun. I have restored many vehicles in the my time but not Mini's as I always thought they were rather cramped and difficult to work on compared with the conventional layout.

More recently it was my goal to restore a classic mini and have since become hooked and have had 3 different models my most recent- 1992 Mini Cooper Spi. In my opinion this model was probably the most reliable in terms of road use.

Its taken around Two years part time to complete this last project...Mini Cooper Spi.... it turned out awesome!

What a coincidence I started with BMW....now ..MINI..I still think the classic Mini is a pain to work on at times especially the body work, this takes real time, patience and skill but its rewarding in terms of workmanship, keeping this British Icon alive is greatly satisfying and looking out for my next project.
